Risk Transfer Report

A modern, digital-first approach to improve readability and bring clarity to complex information.

Overview

The Risk Transfer Report is a key publication for Hymans Robertson, providing detailed analysis and insights. The goal was to create a modern, digital-friendly version while improving readability and aligning the branding with the wider website.

Challenge

Analysis showed the report was mainly viewed online, so a traditional print layout limited clarity on screen. Charts and graphs were often small, and stat blocks felt cramped.

Design process

We created a digital-first layout optimised for screen viewing, allowing charts and graphs to display larger and stat blocks to breathe. Spacing and typography were adjusted for clarity and modernity. The cover was redesigned to bring it in line with the website’s visual identity, and a gold foil 10-year anniversary stamp was introduced for printed editions to give a premium, celebratory touch.

Final result

The refreshed Risk Transfer Report is easier to read online, with charts and stat blocks presented clearly and effectively. The cover now ties seamlessly with Hymans Robertson’s brand, and the gold foil stamp adds a special touch for print. Overall, the report is more engaging, modern, and consistent across digital and print formats.

The work on the risk transfer report was excellent, you responded well to ideas from other members of the team on the changes needed and you also turned things around at pace which was appreciated.

The work on the updates for next years’ report are excellent – the design looks really fresh and well thought out and also reflects the needs of the report e.g. the appendices are more complex to play around with, but the proposals look like they will still keep the information visually clear and accessible whilst maintaining the overall feel for the refreshed report.
